sangria and summer salads

my parents headed to NY and left us their home. a few gals gathered on monday evening to kick off summer with salads and sangria! flowers from the yard and my mom's bright serving dishes were a great addition for a fabulous evening with friends. we might have watched the bachelorette;) and if i could vote anyone off it would be ashley(the bachelorette)! she was painful to watch! a girl's got to know when to say goodbye. SERIOUSLY! (if you're a bachelorette fan you might need to come join us for the next viewing.)

touch a truck

saturday morning we caravanned down to torrey pines HS for touch a truck! karen had mentioned the fundraiser and how much her boys loved it last year. this year did not disappoint! i was blown away by the friendly volunteers and all of the huge vehicles. a.m.a.z.i.n.g. what a treat to participate in such a great community event!


isaac got to race a car and he was thrilled. his car didn't win, but when you're 3 you don't care about that. he was just excited he got to push the button to make it go.
baby asher spent most of the time in the front pack. this child LOVES to be held!!


we only had one minor fight between the boys. not too bad for a very long morning of fun!
should we be concerned that isaac felt pretty comfy in the back of the police car?
side note: our friends won one of the raffles!! hello gift card to roys and new legos!

and so the week ends...

thursday we all headed to stagecoach for a little fun after swimming lessons. there's nothing like the promise of otter pops and the park to get your child into the pool for lessons with john.


that night we all made our way to a little bbq. the boys were in heaven, jumping on the trampoline and running all over. it was awesome. thank you, laura!




friday our little swimmers were excited for a treat from DQ! these little ones have worked so hard this week! lots of tears but a lot of pride as well!

gaga came to see the boys swim and treated us to lunch and dessert. thanks, mom! why does everything taste better with friends?

rewards

a little reward for our little swimmers after their second day(wednesday) in the water. our boys cried the ENTIRE way to pool, but once their lesson was over they were proud.

stephanie hosted an amazing night of wine tasting! who doesn't love to try new wines, meet new friends and chat? thanks, stephanie!

swin 2 john

tuesday was our first day of swim 2 john lessons. LOTS of tears! we have heard great things from friends about the final outcome and so we are going for it. here are some shots from the first lesson. more to come.

the lessons are at my friend laura's. she is brilliant and has a treasure chest full of prizes for the "swimmers". guess what we choose each time...

20 weeks of love

tuesday marked 20 weeks and 17lbs 1 oz for asher. he has such a sweet little personality and is totally content to just sit and watch us all run around, though i usually am holding him(for his own safety). he is truly a third born, being dragged to the park, swimming lessons and sometimes the occasional date night(stew doesn't consider it a date night if there is a chid in tow, but sometimes that's how it works). the third just feels easier in life. with the addition of each child we spend less time focusing on the little things that seemed to once be so worrisome and more time on the things that we have chosen to make a priority. i love the craziness in our home! i sure hope we still get to have that fourth, be it a boy or GIRL;)

memorial day(monday)

memorial day was spent with friends and family. we spent the morning with my mom and friends at the spray ground, getting some of our energy out. (yep, asher only wore one sock. that's all i could find and i figured one was better than none)


that evening we headed to my parents for a little bbq and play. thanks mom and dad!
