the end of september

our monday play group met at the kennard house for a a fabulous (sweat-fest) morning . it was so picking hot that the kids were dripping sweat(so were the moms). fortunately that doesn't stop us from having a great time.

how cute are nolan and isaac?! two very happy little guys!

of course we had to stop for frozen yogurt on the way home. i couldn't think of anything else that would cool the boys down before taking them back into our no air conditioning condo.

rarely do we find them in their own beds.
wednesday night miriam and joe made their way into town, visiting from georgia. though the time was short it felt good to be with old friends.

on sunday we went straight from church to the encinitas oktoberfest. it was so freaking hot!! the boys still managed to have a good time, but it was HOT!

saturday morning we headed to the artsplash event in carlsbad. it was great to see the SFC students creating their masterpiece and sharing their chalk with my little guys. the boys felt pretty special!

hands and face covered in chalk
we stopped at this booth where the boys were able to create their own pieces of art with lots of glue, fabric, feathers and more.

each boy painted a leaf. both leaves are now hanging up in our house for fall.

we ran into the lyons family and the boys decided to play a little game of "i spy" with their grandmas.
thank you mrs. farrington for telling us about this great event!

crab feast 2010

friday night adam and amanda introduced us to a great crab feast! i am pretty sure stew put away close to 6+ crabs and that's no small feat. it takes a lot of work to open those little things up. he was a machine!

tuxedos and such

last sunday we headed to escondido to have isaac fitted for his tuxedo. next month isaac will be in stew's cousin's wedding as the cutest little ring bearer ever! unfortunately isaac wasn't a huge fan of trying the fancy little outfit on. to be honest, many tears were shed and a bit of a wrestling match took place. the associate helping us assured us that she was certain at some point in time they had probably had customers like us. that was kind of her to lie.

after a tough go at it in the tuxedo shop we were off to uncle ken's birthday celebration. the boys loved playing with cousin avery.

grandpa alan and avery
lots of dirt digging and apple eating.

a couple days later and ryder is still holding tight to the balloon from disneyland.

this character loves to find a new sleeping spot each night.

the happiest place on earth, take 2

my aunt bonnie's friend works for disneyland as one of the characters and was able to get us all into the park for free! this is not the first time she has hooked us up with this great setup and we are so grateful. the boys were in heaven running around, taking in all the food, pumpkins, and rides. disneyland was so much fun for our family! neither boy napped so we knew we needed to hit the road by early evening. much to our surprise both isaac and ryder did really well all day long. maybe disneyland really is the happiest place on earth.
isaac was pretty impressed with mickey and the band.
the boys had a blast running around toon town, driving cars, climbing through pumpkins and riding pretend trains.

auntie treated us to lunch at a great little spot in downtown disney. the boys loved the bread!

waiting for the much talked about train.
all aboard!

isaac went into the bathroom and soon came out screaming, "poo poo on the potty! i am so proud of you. mickey sucker!" and so that's exactly what he got. of course ryder had to have one too. we all need moral support in life.

parade time
auntie bonnie got ryder his own balloon on the way out of the park. this balloon was ryder's pride and joy.

a few minutes in the car and isaac was out. ryder on the other hand held out for a very long hour.
