yesterday we celebrated ryder's first year of birth by having a few of his friends and a lot of our family gather for brunch. he does not officially turn one till next friday (the 18th) but this is much further away from christmas, and therefore hopefully less hectic. although he had a good time, he had to be woken up from a nap to go to his own party so he arrived a little dazed.
let the games begin!
relaxing with barbara
grauntie bonnie
annie and ryder, carrie and jacob, amanda and avery... at least the mothers are smiling.
rhiannon, michael, autumn, isaac, jacob, ryder, and avery. one cool crew.
the family. isaac is a little young to be pulling the surly teenager look but i don't suppose a little practice hurts anyone.
grandma chris
"aunt annette, can you take me over there? i need some caffeine."
thanks for the balloons, bradley! (and thanks uncle derek for holding me while i eat said balloons.)
ryder managed to put his birthday candle out with his two fingers. a pyro in training.
susan and grammy
the mattingly crew. bradley, keeping it real.
"grammy, seriously, i demand caffeine!"
bradley and ryder. bradley drank a mocha before he came. ryder is still looking for something, even if it is just a plain old cup of joe.
bradley and ryder playing with all the coasters. who needs presents when they have these nifty little things just laying around.
opening of the gifts
making out with the new snow globe.
plenty of kids came out of the woodwork to help open ryder's gifts. isaac has already commandeered most of them.
this book proved to be a kid magnet. those silly tadpoles...

The last picture with the quote about Glenn Beck had me laughing out loud! Way too funny! The quote fit the looks on Ryder and Grandpy's faces perfectly! Loved it!
