thanks for your condolences

it had to happen sooner or later. i (stew) reached a milestone i had not hoped to see for a very long time. i entered my mid 30's. some would argue that 34 does not qualify as mid 30's, but they would be wrong. 30, 31, 32 and 33 = early 30's. 34, 35, and 36 = mid 30's. 37, 38 and 39 = late 30's. i don't even want to think about what that means for those of you who are 54.
after sleeping in till 8:30 (a near physical impossibility around our house) we took a family walk to the park.

the halloween goldfish were a big hit

dinner at islands is always a good time. allie even bought me a german chocolate cake. too bad i was the only one who liked it.

strike that, somebody else liked it too...

enough to get some on his forehead.

still going at it, even as grammy is getting heartlessly cut out of the picture by our waitress.

it was an overall great day, one of the greatest birthdays i have had in a long time. phone calls, facebook messages, a slurpee, sunflower seeds, and a trip to one of my favorite thrift stores. it was super mellow, which at this point in my life is what i would most want. wait, did i just enter my mid 60's?
